Amidst so much uncertainty and change, I decided to chase a dream I’d had for years.
It was 2020, the world was upside down from COVID, and I had just quit my stable corporate job. My two daughters were home with no school or daycare, and my husband and I were figuring out how to make it all work. But deep down, I knew this was my chance to finally build something meaningful, take the entrepreneurial route, and follow my greater purpose benefiting my family and the people I serve. I was finally ready to go all-in on real estate.
It all started with my parents, and the example they set. They arrived in the United States from Cambodia as survivors of the Khmer Rouge. They didn’t speak English, had no college education, and started completely from scratch. They worked long hours, attended junior college at night to learn English, and slowly built a life here. Eventually, they became homeowners and landlords, and today, their retirement is secured by the properties they worked so hard to acquire. They taught me the power of hard work, resilience, and how homeownership could completely change your life.
After college, I was eager to follow in my parents’ footsteps and jumped into real estate investments. I trusted the wrong people and got swept up in the excitement of the market, only to lose three properties during the crash. That experience was humbling and painful, but it became my motivation. I got my license so I could help others avoid the same mistakes, offering honest guidance and true advocacy.
The early years were tough, and not as glamorous as people make it out to be. I worked part-time in the field, really getting to know the industry and how I could best serve people. As my family grew, I found myself juggling motherhood, real estate, and a corporate job. There was a day I dropped my daughter at the door of an open house and asked another agent to watch her while I worked. It was then I realized this dream would have to wait so I could focus on my family.
For several years, I put real estate on hold, working nine-to-five so I could be present for my daughters in the evenings and on the weekends. But the dream never left me.
In 2019, after some soul-searching and personal development, I realized I was ready to try again. The pandemic changed our family dynamic, with our daughters needing someone home with them during the day. But it also gave me the flexibility to be there for my family while rebuilding my business. That first year back, I closed two deals. The next year, with the support of a great team, I closed 21. By focusing on the people behind the transaction, and really prioritizing their best interests, I’ve earned the trust and recommendations of my clients.
Our family was able to buy a home together, and we even took the step to start investing again. For me, it all comes back to family and wanting to set my daughters up for success, both financially and by teaching them the skills to continue growing that legacy. I know many of my clients share that same dream for their own families, and it is one I’m proud to help them work toward.
As a family we love spending time outdoors, camping, and hiking. In my free time, you’ll find me playing pickleball, gardening, or strumming my ukulele. I also serve on the board of Goodness Village, a nonprofit that provides permanent housing for the unhoused. Giving back is really important to me, and something I look forward to expanding on as I continue to build my business.
Real estate changed my family’s life, and I am here to help it change yours too.
My “why” is to help people achieve the same American dream that brought stability and opportunity to my family, and I want to help others avoid the mistakes that set me back early in my journey. I treat my clients’ goals as if they are my own. I listen closely, give honest advice, and am willing to tell people “No” if a property doesn’t fit their needs or is a bad investment. That total transparency ensures my clients can make informed decisions and trust that they have a representative in their corner who wants to help them reach their goals, not just get a paycheck.
Throughout the transaction process, I pride myself on being a great problem-solver. I handle negotiations strategically, anticipate potential issues before they arise, and work proactively to keep deals on track. Whether it’s coordinating inspections, navigating complex paperwork, or managing all parties involved, I make sure every detail is handled efficiently.
My clients appreciate that I go the extra mile, doing things like last-minute repairs to ensure a listing shines or personally meeting appraisers and inspectors at the property to advocate for my clients’ interests and keep everything on schedule. My goal is to make buying and selling an empowering experience that improves your life and helps you enter the next chapter with confidence!
Sincerely,
Ranon Lanners
